Jason’s cinematic and visually compelling style stems from an award winning background in photography, which includes winning the Creative Review & Corbis 2007 ‘Creative Behind the Lens’ competition.

His image making is highly perceptive, laced with stunning textures and has a mysterious quality; he is a photographer whose clearly loves his work. For 2AM, it is these desirable attributes, which Jason has proved to seamlessly translate into moving image, that makes him such an exciting addition to our roster. He joined us in the summer of 2010 and has already shot 2 commercial campaigns for RKCR / Y&R.

Jason’s background is fine art, he graduated with a distinction in photography from North Warwickshire college, he also completed a degree in photography at Derby University. This led him to Hong Kong, where he spent five years working as a creative for Star TV and a stint as a cinematographer for MTV Asia.

Returning to the UK Jason began long running collaborations with both Discovery Europe and 4Creative directing high profile campaigns featuring the likes of Kevin McCloud, Gok Wan and Russell Brand. He quickly became renowned for highly creative writing and directing, and picking up four BDA/Promax Gold Awards en route.

In 2009 his short film ‘Dark Frequency’ won special mention at the London Short Film Festival while in 2007 Jason collaborated with internationally renowned Polish artist Pawel Althamer for Tate Modern, directing the conceptual trailer/short ‘Real Time Movie’ featuring Jude Law that played in West End cinemas.

‘Real Time Movie’ sees Law musing on life and love whilst buying fish in Borough Market, it expresses Jason’s natural ability to captivate, using both exquisitely beautiful photography together with layered documentary sensibility.
