Big Weekend
New to the 2AM roster is James Caddick, a visual, comedy, and documentary director with award winning credentials.
James's highly textural work and poetic visual style, often with the addition of funny and emotive narrative elements enables stories to be told seamlessly. Creative Review picked up on his early directing talent showcasing him in their bi-annual review of new directors and he has gone on to direct work for a wide range of clients.
James's aesthetic comes from a rich creative background and eclectic range of inspiration. He is a regular collaborator with Le Gun, a collective of illustrators who love drawing and storytelling and contributes regularly to their infamous magazine. He lectures in illustration at Central St Martins and prior to that completed an MA in Art and Design at Royal College of Art. He is currently working on a graphic novel with the support of Faber and Faber and has recently been commissioned by the Irish film board to make a documentary about Doodling.
As well as commercial and digital work James has received acclaim and won awards for his short films, animations and music videos. His animation 'The Journey' won the McLaren award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and his first music video 'If Only' for KT Tunstall won an award at the 2008 UK MVAs. A NME nomination followed in 2010 for his Maccabees music video 'Can You Give It'. James also directed series of shorts for Channel 4’s Three Minute Wonders entitled 'Preparing For The Worst'.
James has a love for strong ideas and the creative process, aiming always to collaborate with the right people to produce great work.
