One for the heart: ‘Back to the Future’, Irina Werning’s brilliant photographic reenactments of the good ol’ days.

This is one of my favourite discoveries of recent weeks and it was love at first sight I as soon as I saw Irina Werning’s photos. In a sense you can’t not like them. They have nostalgia written all over them and they are so well done. Irina admits to being “a nosey photographer” and a person “who loves old photos and starts sniffing for them as soon as she steps into someone else’s house”. What she then marvellously does with the photographs she likes, is to recreate them with people as they are today and matches the outfits, lighting and art department from the original images as accurately as possible.The results are great and most will get you smiling no matter what mood you are in and some will bring to mind the old ‘but he/she was such a beautiful baby, what happened?’.
